My father went to visit Sam the other day. The MRI revealed Sam qualified for the third and final round of an expiremental treatment. I couldn’t even begin a guess at the specifics of this treatment, but I can tell you it’s not a cure in the traditional sense. Right now, he’s in a holding pattern. The tumors along his spine and brain stem aren’t growing…but they aren’t shrinking either. The doctors are hoping these tumors will eventually starve to death. Sam is hoping the same.

He’s up and about. He’s calling old friends up. He has big plans to take his family (and new granddaughter) to the fair this September. His life has a chance…which is pushing Sam to hope.
